• Develop and execute strategies for Production & Supply Planning, Materials Management, and Distribution, while leading day-to-day activities of the function.

• Develop actions to drive improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of these teams and their contribution to corporate objectives – with a particular focus on improving the use of digital technologies and leaning processes.

• Key member of the Cork site leadership team – supporting site wide initiatives on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost

• Ensure compliance with current regulatory standards (GMP/GDP) and guidelines (Distribution, administrative, financial & quality assurance), including ensuring you and your team complete all the required training

• Work with cross functional teams (Demand Planning, Commercial, Customer Service, Finance) to deliver a best-in-class S&OE and S&OP process. These processes will align site capacity with demand to meet customer requirements

• Manage inventory planning from raw material through finished goods, ensuring inventory is maintained at optimal levels to support customer demand and meet company financial goals.

• Using Lean techniques such as PSR, DMS etc, develop metrics and key performance indicators to proactively identify trends and formulate action plans to drive improvements.

• Ensure that you and your team complete all required training in a timely manner to maintain compliance with GMP/GDP standards and internal procedures, including staying current with updates to company processes, documentation practices, and regulatory expectations.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain, or equivalent knowledge
• Solid experience within a Supply Chain leadership role - Manufacturing, Planning, Sourcing or Logistics – preferably within a regulated GMP/GDP environment
• Experience in collaboration with the key interfaces within the end-to-end supply chain, with manufacturing and between supply chain and commercial functions
• Extensive knowledge of Lean concepts alongside practical implementation
• Strong knowledge of ERP planning systems.

• Multimodal Freight Forwarding:

Coordinate and track multimodal shipments, optimizing routes and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

• Shipping Documentation:

Prepare and manage all shipping documents, ensuring compliance with regulations and resolving documentation issues.

Develop and adjust shipping forecasts based on supply-demand analysis to support downstream customer demand.

Generate and analyze KPIs for planning and distribution, providing actionable insights for improvement.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent).

• Several years of experience in logistics, distribution planning, or supply chain management, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.

• Strong understanding of multimodal freight forwarding and international shipping regulations.

The internship will start in early June (03rd, 04th) 2025 for a 12-week period.

Working hours are 39 hrs per week, Mon-Thur 08.00-16.30 & Friday 08.00-15.30, Each day will consist of a 15 min morning tea break and a 30 min lunch break.

This role will be an “Onsite” role for the duration of 12 weeks, “Working from Home” or “Hybrid Working” conditions is not an option for this role.

Proficiency in MS365/MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Knowledge of SAP or another ERP system would be advantageous.

• Materials Team - Carry out routine analysis on Incoming Primary & Secondary packaging materials ensuring compliance with cGLP/cGMP and that turnaround times are met. Analysis is performed using various physical, chemistry and instrumental techniques (NIR, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, FT-IR)

• In Process Team - Carry out routine analysis during batch manufacture, ensuring compliance with cGLP/cGMP and that turnaround times are met. Analysis to include In Process chemistry and microbiological analysis, WFI & Pure Steam sampling and analysis & performing and managing the Environmental Monitoring programme in conjunction with clean room personnel. Analysis is performed using various microbiological, wet chemistry and instrumental techniques (e.g. Mettler Toledo autotitrators, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, pH and RI meters)
• Finished Product Team - Carry out routine analysis on Finished Product and Shelf-life samples ensuring compliance with cGLP/cGMP and that turnaround times are met. Analysis is performed using various microbiological, wet chemistry and instrumental techniques (e.g. HPLC, Osmolality, Organic Iodine, Inorganic Iodine, TLC, & Technical/Functional tests)

• Provide cross functional administration support for key business initiatives as required by the Admin and HR Team.
• Support HR related queries including general queries, recruitment support.
• Craft, evaluate and modify emails, letters, agendas (and other e.g. newsletter).
• Support with compiling HR Analytics for the Cork site.
• Prepare and share internal communications e.g. weekly newsletter and general site communications e.g. car park etiquette.
• Provide support for internal and external events e.g. Kaizen events, visits from suppliers.
• Preparation of DHL documentation for shipment requests.
• Provide discreet and confidential coordination of sensitive business information.
• Maintain files/documents in admin folder.
