Collection, interpretation and reporting of market research
Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. Subject to Commercial policy objectives. Has independence in achieving commercial objectives within operating budgets and operating guidelines. There is moderate autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.


1. Market and Competitor Intelligence

  • Be responsible for China market monitoring, including tracking industry policies, competitor moves, new technology trends, major NPIs, mergers & acquisitions and other strategy investment/divesture.
  • Publish China Weekly Newsletter.
  • Collect and analyze GEHC peers’ quarterly earning’s calls.
  • Perform ad hoc competitor deep dives in collaboration with Strategy and/or Finance teams.

2. Market Data and Report

  • Assess, select and manage third party providers on China market data and intelligence, such as Public Tender database, Gov’t Special Funds for Healthcare Industry, China Market Performance Report, etc.
  • Collaborate with GEHC Data expert / IT to digitize, visualize such third-party data, and connect with other inhouse platforms when needed.
  • Train and educate internal users to best utilize these data and reports for GEHC biz purpose

3. Market Forecast

  • Lead quarterly China market forecast exercise and supervise external consultant’s work
  • Be responsible for China key stakeholder alignment and global interlock.
  • Continuously review forecasting methodologies and processes, applying industry best practices to enhance forecasting capabilities and improve China forecast accuracy to meet global standard.

4. Research & Insights:

  • Gather China business needs, coordinate market research projects, including 3rd party surveys, focus groups, competitive benchmark, and other topic-specific studies.
  • Ensure cost effective yet high-quality output that supports China region business decision making.
  • Serve as a PMO for these projects, ensuring confidentiality, data security, and full compliance.

5. Strategic Insights & Management Support:

  • Provide on-going support to China Leadership Team with market and competitive intelligence and insights
  • Foster collaboration within the department and across BUs and functions.
  • Ensure data integrity, maintain high standard on quality of work, transparency and traceability.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor or above Degree in top universities, prefer Healthcare or business-related majors; MBA, PhD, MD is a plus 8+ year work experience, in either:

2. Demonstrated research and analytic skills, communication skills, detail oriented, and quantitative skills.

3. Proven leadership experience in small size team management and cross-functional projects management.

4. Outstanding in English and Chinese, including oral communication, written and presentation skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Analyzing market dynamic for AI offering capability strategy design, play critical role in product/offering readiness for go to market strategy, coordinate with development team, delivery team and global cross function team to enable the product capability and facilitate commercial success & growth in the market.

• Performing industry trend analysis, market share and competitive analysis and win/loss tracking to identify product and commercial strategies for growth. Collecting and prioritizing product introduction and improvement recommendations and analyzing competitive landscape. Identifying budget requirements to insure proper execution

• Orchestrating research to assess market and customer environments and to discover unmet needs, buying cycles and personas. Identifying customers’ clinical and economic needs, values and desired benefits. Identifying and assess market and distribution risks, and developing a plan to mitigate those risks.

• Working with Region Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and Digital Design to provide input to the product development roadmap and to develop, test and prototype new product ideas. Developing a plan and budget for evidence generation to support selected NPI’s and installed base products. Developing inputs to support business case for NPI (incl. target pricing) and product positioning

• Defining brand (naming & trademarks), value proposition(s), and competitive positioning claims roadmap for new and existing products.

• Building and executing global product launch plan, including value proposition, segmentation / positioning, target pricing, awareness & advocacy strategies, channel strategy and sales enablement (in coordination with Regional Product Marketing).

• Coordinating development of marketing assets and product training materials (in cooperation with Marketing Services).

• Utilizing Gold Standard marketing practices and skills to develop a global marketing plan (portfolio management, marketing strategy, customer segmentation and targeting, positioning and value proposition development, message, and market assets development, etc.) to grow global orders and share alternatively, “to support annual business objectives”). Ensures regional marketing plans are aligned with the global marketing plan and collaborates with regional marketing on selecting the appropriate marketing mix.

• Developing and managing budget needed to execute marketing plan, and ensure timely implementation of programs in marketing plan

Desired Characteristics:

MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, biomed engineering, electronic engineering, computer science & AI or related field 10+ years’ experience in marketing, product marketing or related field Deep marketing expertise in market & customer insights, product commercialization and branding MNC related AI product marketing experience is desired. Healthcare device product/industry acumen Experience managing a global brand. Innovation – develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, global and cross-functional teams Influencing skills – ability to motivate individuals and demonstrate organizational influence. Strong interpersonal skills – influencing, relationship building and coordination. Proven experience in managing multiple project/operations simultaneously. Highly motivated, self-starter.
