We work in regions across the country, with team members based in four hubs in London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Birmingham. We operate a hybrid working model, where staff work in the office at least one day per week, however, depending on the nature of your role or specific business needs, you may be required to attend the office or events more than once a week.

As an independent charity we raise income through corporate partners, traditional fundraising, and grants.

Your role as Data Anlytics Manager

In this pivotal role brand new role, you will lead the development and execution of data analytics strategies that go beyond tracking programme success. Your insights will be central to understanding and demonstrating the long-term impact we have on youth employability, social mobility, and inclusion. By working closely with internal teams, corporate partners, funders, and policy influencers, you will ensure that our data-driven approach is integral to decision-making, continuous improvement, and the scaling of our work.

The role will include several key responsibilities but are not limited to:

Responsibilities of the Data Analytics Manager

  1. Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Data, Systems & Processes: Lead the use of CRM and survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, MS Dynamics, Power BI) to ensure consistent, high-quality data capture and reliable reporting.
    • Dashboards & Reports: Oversee, create and maintain interactive dashboards and concise reports, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform decisions for key stakeholders.
    • In Depth Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of programme metrics and audience segmentation (e.g., socioeconomic, geographic, health) to support strategic planning, outreach, and resource allocation.
    • Data Quality & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or errors, collaborating with technical teams to resolve issues and implementing measures to maintain data integrity.
    • Stakeholder Insight: Provide data-driven insights and evidence to support grant applications, stakeholder communications, and advocacy efforts.
    • Capacity Building: Lead initiatives to improve data literacy across teams by delivering hands-on training, creating best-practice guides, and providing ongoing support to build a data-driven culture.
  2. Impact & Evaluation
    • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Framework Design: Develop/refine monitoring & evaluation frameworks, including Theory of Change, that align with the Foundation’s long-term strategic objectives.
    • Data Collection & Management: Oversee the collection and management of both quantitative and qualitative data (surveys, interviews, workshops) while ensuring compliance with ethical standards, GDPR, and best practices.
    • Evaluation Delivery: Coordinate evaluation activities, including the facilitation of feedback sessions with programme participants and stakeholders to capture valuable insights and learnings.
    • Reporting & Recommendations: Synthesise evaluation findings into clear, actionable reports, offering prioritised recommendations for improvements.
    • Integration & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with programme, income, and communications teams to ensure that evaluation insights inform ongoing programme delivery and enhance storytelling efforts.
    • External Partnerships: Manage relationships with external evaluators, research partners, and consultants to ensure high-quality, cost-effective evaluation services.
    • Continuous Learning: Monitor progress against impact KPIs, share lessons learned across teams, and promote a culture of data-driven innovation and continuous improvement.
  3. Team Leadership & Coaching:
    • Lead, mentor, and coach stakeholders and support their professional growth, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Deliver training and development opportunities to enhance the team's analytical skills and data literacy across the organisation.
  4. Process Improvement:
    • Continuously review and improve data processes, methodologies, and workflows to increase efficiency and enhance the quality of outputs.
    • Promote a culture of innovation, identifying and implementing new tools and technologies to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement & Influence:
    • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that data-driven insights are communicated effectively and inform key decisions.
    • Act as the data subject matter expert, influencing stakeholders to make data-driven decisions that support systemic change and sustainable impact.
  6. Cross-Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure that data and insights are embedded into daily operations and long-term strategic planning.
    • Lead cross-functional teams in the design and delivery of data projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and fostering a shared sense of ownership.

Knowledge:

  • Professional/Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding and hands-on experience in data analytics, including monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation Methodologies: Knowledge of key frameworks, including Theory of Change, Social Return on Investment (SROI), and Contribution Analysis, with the ability to apply them in data analytics contexts.
  • GDPR & Data Protection: Expertise in GDPR compliance and data protection standards, ensuring the safe handling of personal and sensitive data in research and evaluation activities.

Experience:

  • Monitoring & Evaluation Design: Experience in designing and embedding Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks (e.g., Theory of Change, logic models) that support long-term strategic goals.
  • Evaluation Delivery: Experience in leading data collection efforts (surveys, interviews, workshops) and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate programme effectiveness.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Expertise in developing and presenting impact reports and data insights to senior leaders, funders, and stakeholders, turning data into compelling narratives that drive action.
  • Strategic & Operational Planning: Experience in delivering strategic and operational plans for data analytics and related areas, ensuring that analytics goals align with broader organisational objectives.
  • Accountability for Performance: Taking ownership of data-driven performance against agreed financial and programme targets, driving continuous improvement across analytics efforts.
  • Decision-Making: Making critical decisions in data analysis and reporting that directly impact the success of projects and programmes.


Knowledge:

  • Data Management Systems: Hands-on experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Or willingness to learn new data systems.
  • Sector Context: Familiarity with the youth employability, social mobility, and charity sectors, particularly understanding how data can drive change in these environments.
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: Understanding of DEI principles and their application in data practice, ensuring inclusive, equitable data approaches.

Experience:

  • Charity/Social Impact: Experience working in the charity or social impact sector, ideally within youth employability or similar programmes, with a focus on measuring social change.
  • Qualifications Desirable but not mandatory:

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or data management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, or Tableau Desktop Specialist).
  • Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a plus.


Pre-Interview Task
This assesses your technical skills, interpretation, and ability to communicate insights. It can include:

Data Task:

A small anonymised dataset (e.g., programme participation, demographic info, outcome data).
A few questions to answer, such as:

  • Identify key trends and insights.
  • Suggest areas for further investigation.
  • Highlight data quality concerns.
  • Present findings in a brief dashboard or written summary.


Short slide deck (e.g. 3–5 slides) or written report.

First Stage Interview
The first stage will focus on assessing your technical expertise and communication skills:

  • Presentation & Data Task: You’ll be asked to develop and present insights based on a short data task. This will test your ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings clearly and effectively.
  • Q&A on Presentation: Following your presentation, there will be a short discussion to explore your approach, thinking, and decision-making.
  • Competency-Based Questions: We will explore your technical and professional experience relevant to the role through structured questions aligned to the key competencies.
  • Scenario-Based Questions: You’ll be presented with hypothetical situations to demonstrate your problem-solving, judgement, and ability to navigate complex or ambiguous challenges.

Second Stage Interview

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Pensions Executive, you'll work on a number of clients across our large portfolio in consultation with the Assistant Director / Partner, in accordance with EY policies and protocols.

You will take responsibility for drafting client deliverables across multiple engagements, reporting to the Assistant Director and where there isn’t one, directly to the engagement Partner or Director, project managing the engagement, communicating issues to the Partner / Director and driving the project to completion with support from the Partner / Director / Assistant Director as appropriate.

  • Appreciation of the risks inherent in advising businesses and their stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A track record within a recognised pensions covenant advisory team including experience of delivering covenant reviews
