Your key responsibilities

You will combine strong technical skills with practical commercial, legislative, and industry knowledge to assist in providing tax services. You will help manage our clients’ compliance and reporting needs. You will establish, maintain, and strengthen valued internal and external relationships and ensure that the services delivered to clients are of the highest quality.

You will assist in the day-to-day management of client engagements, monitor progress and deliverables, put in place the necessary standardized processes, anticipate and identify risks, escalate issues as appropriate, and support performance-improvement solutions. You will work with high-performing teams and contribute to a positive learning culture, supporting junior team members in their development. You will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to our Tax Quality guidelines.

Qualification and Experience

• A very strong knowledge and minimum of 1-2 years of experience in domestic and international tax rules/regulations, developments, etc., ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment. A strong background in tax accounting and tax auditing, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment.

This will include identifying risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle. You'll advise clients on complex trade related transactions and help disputes and issues with the authorities.

Key Technical Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on global trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures and assist clients in ensuring compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
• Analyze clients' supply chain operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and risk mitigation in their global trade activities.
• Help clients save cost through the use of Free Trade agreements and other Special Programs
• Support clients during post-clearance audit programs and build the case to respond to the Customs Authorities.
• Leverage EY’s technology platforms to offer clients innovative solutions for trade management, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
• Keep abreast of changes in global trade regulations and advise clients on the implications for their business.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and effective communication. Understand clients' business models and provide tailored solutions to their global trade challenges.
• Work closely with other EY teams, such as Tax, Advisory, and Assurance, to provide comprehensive services to clients.
