What You’ll Do:

• Troubleshoot and solve customer issues on their deployments (on-prem and cloud)
• Support cloud deployments including monitoring and answering customer inquiries
• Engage with customers via multiple channels (ticketing system, and screen sharing tools) to identify and resolve technical support requests while continuing to educate our clients on the use of the product
• Reproduce technical issues and dive into On-Prem Enterprise and Cloud Capella platform
• Participate in product conversations with internal teams based on feedback from client interactions
• Identify and write internal and external technical articles, like typical troubleshooting steps, workarounds, or best practices
• Train as a highly knowledgeable specialist in one or more Couchbase component area(s)
• Work from a Couchbase office 3 - 5 days per week* (*if office-based)

Who You Are:

• Experienced in multi-channel technical support (4+ years of related experience)
• Experienced using Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, or similar software
• An engineer with previous technical troubleshooting and programming experience with Java, Go, Python
• Solid knowledge of Unix and Network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS, etc)
• Strong understanding and experience with at least one cloud environment such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and/or Microsoft Azure
• Experience working with NoSQL databases or distributed systems
• Experience using Kubernetes and Docker is a plus
• Experience with alerting and monitoring tools.
• Self-motivated, detail-attentive, and have a desire for continuous learning
• A critical thinker who defaults to a client-centric approach
• An effective written and verbal communicator
• Able to work a rotating schedule that requires weekend availability

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and software engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into interactive, user-friendly interfaces.
• Design and develop responsive and visually appealing web applications and user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, React frameworks.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of product requirements and UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software development, and recommend their integration to enhance our products.
• Identify and address performance and compatibility issues across different browsers and platforms.
• Champion engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines within the development team.
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate front-end interfaces with server-side logic and APIs.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Write and encourage other engineers to write automated tests.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience as Front-End Developer, with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in building user interfaces for web applications.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as TypeScript, Tailwind, React, and Angular
• Solid knowledge of web performance optimization techniques and best practices.
• Ability to rapidly learn and apply emerging technologies, with a proven track record of developing effective proof-of-concepts (PoCs).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proven expertise in mentoring and guiding junior developers. Skilled in advising leadership on the adoption of technologies that enhance productivity, code quality, and maintainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Couchbase users are Software developers, so experience in designing products for software developers or databases is a plus.
• Exposure to Multi-Cloud platforms & web applications used by developers, specially database developers.
• Knowledge of Svelte component framework.
• Curious, adaptable, and fearless, with a strong willingness to explore new challenges and continuously learn in uncharted territories.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced development and deployment environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop/maintain software features in the Observability stack which includes metrics pipeline, alerting, logging and notifications
• Create/maintain monitoring dashboards which gives insights to our customer cluster health
• Develop control plane features requiring observability needs
• High level of ownership and responsibility as we work on production environments to debug a problem
• Working knowledge of AWS services like EC2/EKS/SQS etc.
• Collaborate with the Engineering teams to gather requirements for monitoring and implementation
• Be creative and bring in efficient processes and solutions to enhance team productivity
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify and solve issues before they affect business productivity
• Roll up your sleeves to be a full stack engineer as we build end-end software solutions in the Observability domain

Requirements

• 2+ years experience as a software developer
• Proficiency with programming and scripting languages like Go, Python, Java, or Ruby
• Strong ability to write code, understands basic DSA concepts
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems
• Exposure to any one of the CSPs like AWS/Azure/GCP
• Working experience in Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos and/or DataDog
• Strong debugging skills to mitigate a production issue

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Experience with on-call rotations & incident management
• Experience in developing and managing Kubernetes clusters both self-managed (vanilla/plain k8s) & managed (preferably AWS EKS) will be a plus
• Proficiency with Databases such as Couchbase is a plus
• Exposure to front end development like ReactJS will be a plus
