Mobile Developer

As a Mobile Developer, you’ll participate in the design and development of tools, frameworks, sample applications, documentation, guided tours, videos, blogs, and tutorials to ease the use of Couchbase for developers and customers. You will play a key role in enhancing the Couchbase developer experience.

2-3 years of Experienced in Software Development in two of the popular languages used in mobile development: (Swift, Kotin,Dart, C#, Javascript)
• Experience in building mobile apps in one of the popular mobile frameworks (SwiftUI, UIKit, Android Activities/Fragments, Jetpack Compose, Xamarin, .NET Maui, Flutter, React Native )
• BS Degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 - 3 years of related experience
• Understanding mobile architecture and software design patterns (Repository, MVVM, MVI, Bloc, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of source control (git) and GitHub
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Understanding of API/Web Services
• Experience writing Unit, Integration, and Function tests using platform-specific frameworks

• Mobile cross-platform development experience
• Complete software development life cycle (SDLC) to include design, coding, code reviews, unit tests, and documentation using SCRUM agile process
• Basic knowledge of C programing language
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, and Database as a Service/DBaaS hosted on Cloud environments.
• Understanding of basic DevOps principles and automation using GitHub Actions
• Good understanding of software security considerations both at development and runtime – SAML, OAuth, OpenId, PKI, and Encryption, especially in a Cloud environment
• Currently, this is an office-based role in Bangalore. The Selected candidate is expected to be there in the office 3 days a week. However, we are also open for Remote candidates.

As ayou’ll be leading the design and development of tools, frameworks, sample applications, documentation, guided tours, videos, blogs, and tutorials to ease the use of Couchbase for developers and customers. You will play a key role in enhancing the Couchbase developer experience.

• 5-10 years of experience in mobile development, with solid experience in Swift and Kotlin.
• Expertise in native mobile app development both on Android and iOS
• Must be well-versed in C and Javascript.
• Experience in building mobile apps in one of the popular mobile frameworks (SwiftUI, UIKit, Android Activities/Fragments, Jetpack Compose, Xamarin, .NET Maui, Flutter, React Native)
• BS Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 - 5 years of related experience

Key Responsibilities:

1. UI/UX Requirements: Define UI requirements and partner closely with UX/UI designers, frontend engineers, and feature Product Managers to define developer journeys are intuitive and efficient. Define KPIs for developer experience and UI effectiveness
2. Product Roadmap Contribution : Shape the developer experience roadmap by making data-driven recommendations, specifically focusing on optimizing onboarding flows and reducing user friction. Contribute to the vision for the product experience, focusing on how the UI supports and enhances usability and engagement. Align UI goals with broader product objectives and business priorities
3. Data-Driven Insights & UI Analytics :.Develop and manage Pendo dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reporting to key stakeholders. Utilize data-driven insights to monitor and analyze developer UI interactions. Leverage these insights to uncover user behavior patterns, pinpoint friction points, and identify opportunities for improvement.
4. Developer-Centric Feature Design : As new features are added to the platform, ensure they are presented in an accessible way for both new and experienced developers. Collaborate closely with feature Product Managers and design teams to define workflows for maximize usability.
5. User Research & Competitive Analysis : Conduct user research, analyze developer needs, and stay informed about competitor product experience is to ensure our platform stands out for ease of use
6. Developer Advocacy & Engagement : Ensure the platform delivers value that keeps developers engaged, delighted, and motivated to advocate for Couchbase.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in product management or equivalent frontend engineering and design experience, particularly for developer-centric Enterprise SaaS technology products.
• Background as a frontend developer for a SaaS or cloud-based solutions is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using UI analytics tools (e.g., Pendo, Mixpanel) to gather insights, monitor engagement, and guide product decisions.
• Good understanding of distributed database platforms and experience designing experiences for complex systems.
• Solid UI/UX design understanding with an ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in front-end development concepts (eg. React, vue) and familiarity with design tools (eg, Figma, Sketch etc).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to convey insights and ideas clearly.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with experiences with emerging AI platforms, no-code/low-code platforms
• Familiarity with product-led growth (PLG) principles and experience implementing PLG strategies to drive user acquisition and retention through improved product experience.

• Educate Developers - Lead efforts to teach developers about Couchbase, Capella, and the latest trends in AI and related technologies, through various channels and content formats.
• Evangelize Online and In-Person - Actively promote our technology and solution to inspire developers and architects across online platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, as well as at meetups, conferences, and other tech events to build awareness and foster a developer community.
• Create Engaging Demos and Content - Design, develop, and package interactive demos and presentations that showcase Couchbase’s capabilities, tailored for developer audiences. Support those interested in becoming Couchbase speakers by providing resources and guidance.
• Support Field Marketing and Sales Teams - Partner with the field marketing and sales teams to assist with the most important developer-focused events and meetings. Deliver impactful presentations and engage with developers in-person or virtually, building relationships and driving product adoption.
• Contribute to Developer Community Development - Foster a strong, engaged developer community by participating in relevant online forums, contributing to open-source projects, and providing technical support through Q&A sessions or social media interactions.
• Collaborate with Product Teams - Work closely with product and engineering teams to gather feedback from the developer community, advocate for their needs, and ensure that developer-centric features and improvements are prioritized.
• Measure Impact - Track and report on key metrics related to developer engagement, such as content views, event participation, and social media interactions, to assess the effectiveness of your evangelism efforts.
• Content Strategy - Develop a content strategy that aligns with Couchbase’s goals, producing blog posts, tutorials, white papers, and case studies that resonate with developers and highlight use cases for Couchbase and Capella.
• Stay Ahead of Trends - Continuously monitor emerging trends in AI, cloud databases, and developer tools to ensure that Couchbase stays at the forefront of these technologies and maintain thought leadership in the space.

• Experience with AI framework, especially agentic framework
