What we do:

Middle Office Specialist is an entry level position responsible for providing operational support to Traders with securities, cash and derivatives transactions. It includes: trade monitoring and reporting, market matching and transaction settlement. This position is based on multiple parties communication ( via phone, email or personally) in order to investigate incoming queries and to monitor trade execution.

Responsibilities:

• Provide an operational support to Traders with securities, cash and derivatives transactions

• Prepare daily and weekly/monthly reports

• Cooperate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders like: Brokers, Custodian, Accounting Teams etc.

• Perform control functions such as daily trade monitoring, reconciliations across systems and failed trades management

• Assist Team Manager/Supervisor in all their duties as required

Qualifications:

For newbies, we require good English, being computer literate (especially in the use of MS Outlook and Excel) willing to learn, and to gain the experience in financial world.
we will teach you everything you need to place an order and settle a trade, even if today you don’t know anything about capital markets!

A degree is desired but not critical, as a degree will never replace ambition and hard work. Willingness to work in the capital markets and determination to learn.

What you’ll do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors, building strong, collaborative relationships

• Conduct regular performance reviews, addressing issues and monitoring KPIs/SLAs

• Facilitate communication between stakeholders and vendors for alignment and transparency

• Manage vendor contracts, ensuring favourable terms and maintaining a contract repository

• Monitor contract expirations and collaborate with Sourcing/Legal/Business/Risk teams for extensions and amendments

• Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to pricing agreements; resolve discrepancies

• Monitor vendor spending against the allocated budget, proactively addressing variances and preparing budget reports

• Conduct cost analyses to identify opportunities for optimization, savings, and efficiency

• Ensure compliance with internal policies/regulations; participate in audits and provide documentation

• Create Purchase Orders and oversee the timely and accurate processing of vendor payments

• Assess risks, ensure compliance with laws/regulations, and report on exposures

• Ensure vendor compliance with policies and track/report risk exposures

• Develop and maintain performance dashboards, analyse data for trends, and create reports for management review.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through data analysis

• Identify and implement process enhancements for vendor management, document procedures, and stay updated on industry best practices

• Collaborate with stakeholders, communicate updates, and facilitate meetings.

• Relevant experience in a fast-paced, large global financial services firm (Operations/Finance/Accounting preferred).

• Experience with Resources @ Citi, P2P, and Fieldglass is advantageous.

• Resolve complex process problems which require an in-depth evaluation of basic securities processing procedures and industry standards
• Process various hedge fund tasks, including calculating net asset value, reconciling cash and holdings, and pricing securities

The Role

• The Global Market Risk Reporting group are responsible for the production of management and regulatory reporting for various stakeholders, including Global Market Risk and Legal Entities with IMA permission for Market Risk.
• The team provides these services for Citi’s European legal entities as well as execution of IMA governance activities.
• You will be taking part in regional and global initiatives focused on risk transformation and dealing directly with senior stakeholders from various groups.
• The position requires exceptional people with project management skills, a strong work ethic, solid market risk analytic skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and follow up on problems while working under a very tight daily production cycle.

The position will give the individual exposure to

• Contribution to Risk transformation (Automation and enhancement of Risk & Control framework)
• Understanding of market risk factors that affect VaR, SVAR, IRC, CRM, Securitization, and Standard Specific Model Risk
• Deal with regulators and auditors to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Participate in risk committees about internal controls supporting Citi EMEA entities
• Understanding the relationship between VaR and the risk factors, volatilities, and correlations that go into the statistical calculation to the point where the VaR can be broken down, analysed, and potentially corrected

What you will be doing

• Utilize the appropriate tools and modern techniques to appropriately visualize the firms market risk exposure
• Deliver high quality management reporting to market risk senior management using tools to visualize risk within the entities and provide meaningful insights on the firm’s risk exposure
• Participate in the preparation of market risk inputs to EU & UK regulatory reporting e.g. COREP, Pillar disclosures and daily back testing processes
• Develop an understanding of legal entity/portfolio risk management, financial products and their market risk exposure profiles
• Document evolving market risk reporting requirements and work with Risk IT to deliver data and content changes
• Identify data quality issues, record them in the firm’s data quality inventory and ensure they are resolved by collaborating with the central data quality remediation teams.

What we need from you

• Proven track record of success working in Risk / Finance environments
• Experience with visualization tools - Tableau expert would be advantageous
• Good knowledge of market risk metrics and financial products
• Superior project management & communication skills
• A good understanding of data manipulation techniques using industry standard data pipeline tools will be advantageous
• Bachelor’s University degree, preferred in a related science discipline with a master or relevant financial qualification (FRM/CFA) being an advantage.
