As an Intern, main tasks involve:

• Credit Analysis:

- Financial and operational analysis, including historical and projected performance of the clients

• Bank’s credit exposure and capital management:

• Assistance in client relationship development and business origination:

- Research and presentation of potential relationship development in the field of numerous Citi’s products (e.g. IB, Capital Markets Origination, Treasury and Trade Services, Markets, etc.)

- Development of the banking relationship across Citi geographical network

- Support Bankers on ad hoc pitches (acquisition financing, capital market transactions…)

• You a student status and related visa covering the whole internship period

• You have very good knowledge of Corporate Finance and Financial Markets

• You are fluent in English both written and oral (working language). Good level in French is recommended and additional languages beneficial but not essential

• Clients’ relationship management:

- Participate in client’s meetings and various corporate events (AFTE, Universwiftnet)

- Assist in the coverage of clients’ needs and the implementation of banking solutions

- Review and develop the presentations and pitches for clients

• Transversal projects:

- Identify, review, and propose new cross-selling opportunities and financing solutions

The Investment Banking Associate is responsible for origination and execution of Debt Capital Markets transactions for Corporates and Financial Institutions across Western Europe with a focus on France, Belgium and Luxembourg. The Associate will participate in all client activities including marketing, structuring, execution and ongoing relationship management. You will be part of a dynamic team and will have great exposure to a number of teams including Syndicate, Investment Banking, Derivatives Solutions, Credit Sales and Trading, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Rating Advisory, Loans and Acquisition Financing across countries and industries.

Responsibilities:

• Play a key role in the origination and execution of investment grade bonds and financing solutions for Corporates and Financial Institutions across Western Europe with a focus on France, Belgium and Luxembourg
• Be involved in idea generation and the pitching process, helping to win new business and developing Citi’s franchise by building and maintain client relationships at a junior level
• Be involved in transaction structuring and tailoring of appropriate solutions for corporate and financial institution clients
• Prepare and review presentation materials, including market updates, pricing updates and pitch materials
• Manage internal processes and partner with Syndicate, Legal, Rating Advisory, Corporate and Investment Banking
• Manage and mentor analysts by providing detailed guidance and feedback, managing information flow, and providing credit and exposure information to analysts, as appropriate
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience required (ideally sector investment banking, capital markets, leveraged finance or derivative solutions)
• Fluent English and French. Third language appreciated
• Credit and corporate financing analytical skills
• Demonstrate ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders
• Financial modelling skills preferred
• Good judgement, maturity and poise to enable interaction at all levels
• Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills

• Excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
• Energetic, self-motivated and adaptable

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience, or higher
