

Design engineers in the GPU Group are responsible for the development of next-generation GPU IP for graphics and compute. They are required to have in-depth understanding across all the elements that contribute to the products’ successful delivery, including: low-power design techniques, awareness of the impact of design decisions on system performance, ability to produce designs that are area efficient, and the verification techniques that are employed to ensure high-quality robust designs.

You will specify and develop new hardware verification testbenches for future generation hardware IP. You will improve existing testbenches to increase performance, quality and efficiency. You will also identify areas for improvement in processes and methodologies, then implement those changes to advance our best-practises and state of the art for hardware verification.

Applications Engineering is a multifaceted, deeply technical role, where you will not only use your expertise but your social skills to support our partners through their technical challenges. This role is mostly focusing on Arm IP and Subsystem products that target the Automotive markets.
Working with customers means that you will need to understand what they want to achieve, analyze their requests and issues and provide a solution that moves them forward. As your the experience grows, you will develop and present training courses on our products to customer development teams, and also provide reviews and advice on their system designs. You may be required to mentor and guide other team members, passing on your deep experience and expertise to assist with developing best working practice within the group.
You will collaborate with engineering teams and new product planning teams, acting as the voice of the customer to motivate changes which improve our products and help our partners adopt new technology. You will also raise defects against products, review documentation and periodically write application notes, example source code and knowledge base articles.
Responsibilities:You will have the opportunity to learn about the latest Arm architecture features, working closely with highly skilled engineering teams on ground-breaking technology. You will be empowered to continually identify and roll out improvements to our ways of working; while being supported by a diverse team of project and program managers.

As an experienced C/C++ developer, you will lead a team developing Linux application-level software for a new range of Arm hardware devices aimed at AI use cases. You will work with architects, other technical leaders and project managers to define, estimate, plan and deliver work for your team. You will also be the line manager for the team, handling the full range of activities such as hiring, development and performance evaluations.
· Leading a high-performing team of up to 5 engineers
· Developing Linux services to manage AI workloads and interact with device drivers
· Experienced at designing and developing Linux application-level software in modern C or C++
· Interacting with the Linux kernel and device drivers
· Expertise in inter-process communication, including mailboxes and shared memory
· Experience in managing other engineers
· Effective communicator and ability to collaborate well within and across teams
· Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker
· Understanding of tensor operators in Neural Networks
