You will become the primary resolver for your support team, and gain troubleshooting skills on one or more operating systems. You will be able to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues. Issues are escalated to the appropriate resolver groups when necessary. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to convey Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) to junior staff. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.You are able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as an escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.Regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation and requirement to provide shift coverage during emergencies. Data Centres are 24/7 environments. All interested candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts (day/night) as well as weekends. Data Centre Technicians are also required to wear a pager for communication, information, emergency, and on-call situations.

Description detail
· Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for Amazon Logistical network, including equipment specifications and Fulfillment Centre (FC) layouts.
· Capital project management to include - Creation of conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment
· Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality with MHE vendors/subcontractors.
· Inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures, ensuring proper follow-up on snagging lists and warranty work
· Provide leadership and coordination between internal departments and MHE vendors for multiple installation sites.
· Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing
· Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance practices are followed for new and existing MHE equipment
· Creating, submitting and tracking the relevant Capex documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
· Work very closely with the UK Real Estate, IT and Process teams together with the software and Operations Integration teams to ensure on time project delivery.
· Understand the Operational process in detail, including the all the relevant WMS tools used on a daily basis.

- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline.

As an Amazon Field Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise and engage with diverse teams to:
