And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.As the Data Center Engineering Operation (DCEO) Chief Engineer (CE), you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. You will serves as an expert technical resource reporting to a site’s Data Center Facility Manager and interacting with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and any third party vendors. Being the singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center, you will support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.As the DCEO Chief Engineer you will manage small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion. These projects involve large amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in both local and global settings. Creating and delivering on key milestones, obtaining and tracking quotes for all necessary costs, and documenting project results for future implementation at other facilities. The goals of such projects are for the CE to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.One of the best parts to this role is that you will direct, train and support Engineering Operation Technicians in their role of providing hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. Implementation and execution of site/equipment-specific training exercises is also expected. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems.
Key job responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
• Operate independently with limited direct management
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center, escalating to the Data Center Facility Manager as needed
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Troubleshoot and report of facility and data sever-level events within internal SLA
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff
• Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audienceA day in the life

Description

The Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for the manufacturing test infrastructure for all eero hardware products. Their role starts from early concept prototype builds and continues through sustaining production and reverse logistics while maintaining an infrastructure which touches manufacturing partners through our cloud to our data team. A passion for continuous process improvement is required to continually reduce cycle time and increase test coverage by implementing best practices and using production and field data to make design decisions.
We’re looking for someone who can:
* Own factory test line at FATP; Develop software ecosystem consisting of physical test controllers, big data reporting systems, security certificate management, and cloud infrastructure
* Supervise all factory activity as it pertains to the eero and represent eero in all interactions with the contract manufacturer
* Define modular test strategies and limit implementation, analyze new product testability and deliver test solutions to support the new product introduction process at eero’s manufacturing partner
* Lead factory test yield attack by reducing first pass and final pass failures
* Develop, qualify, and execute RF system testing, board level calibration, desense testing, power testing, and ensure production control processes, data analysis/ interpretation GR&R, Cp/Cpk and correlation analysis are employed
* Automate a wide variety of processes, using techniques such as virtual test environments, automated optical inspection, radio validation, electrical testing, interoperability assessment, and robotics automation
* Compile and analyze production test data using automated and exploration / visual big data analysis techniques
* Guide the hardware requirements for test fixtures which interact with DUT. Ensure fixture design is aligned to cost, scale, and schedule. Engage in RFQ between eero, test vendor, and CM for best end to end testing solution
* Monitor and delegate delivery, bring-up, and validation of all test equipment
* Introduce test processes, monitor functional test yield and take corrective actions to drive continuous smooth production
* Expand the current Python test software code base for next generation products
* Provide feedback to eero Hardware and Software/Firmware development teams to ensure future products are designed for efficient and high quality manufacturing
* Lead DOEs to root-cause test-station related failures isolating to DUT, setup, or implementation.
* Communicate project status updates to various project stakeholders, including team members and executives within eero and OEMs
* Pay attention to detail without becoming lost in the details

Basic Qualifications

* 3+ years of software programming experience in Linux for machine controllers
* Experience programming in scripting languages, preferably Python
* Experience with RF products will be a plus
* BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar
* Familiar experience with Linux, git, and all of the standard UNIX command-line tools
* Well-versed in production factory Final Assembly, Test, and Packout (FATP)
* Natural bias towards documentation; use of defect tracking systems (Jira) and document control (Arena)
* Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and technical communication


Preferred Qualifications

MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and technical communication in Mandarin and Vietnamese

Key job responsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Implementation and execution of site/equipment-specific training exercises includes, but not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, chillers etc.

Proven experience of reading SLDs and control schematics.

- In-depth knowledge of UPS, backup generator systems and generic mechanical-room infrastructure


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- You have five years of working within a data center
- You have an associates or Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades
