Job Description:

This is a critical role within the SMB Analytics & Reporting function. You will be responsible for managing analytics workflows from intake to delivery, and aligning closely with cross-functional stakeholders in Product and Commercial teams. As PayPal transitions to a more automated, AI-native reporting environment, this leader will help bridge foundational execution with the organization's future vision—driving clarity, scale, and actionability across all analytics deliverables

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a pod of data analysts in executing analytics projects that deliver actionable, high-quality insights aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand key initiatives, roadmaps, and OKRs—and translate those into prioritized analytics work streams.
  • Manage the analytics intake and prioritization process to ensure resources are focused on the highest-impact business needs.
  • Ensure rigor and consistency across analytics outputs, maintaining high standards for data quality, business context, and reproducibility.
  • Support strategic planning and operational performance reviews with robust insight packages, ranging from funnel diagnostics to commercial segmentation to white space analysis.
  • Foster a collaborative, transparent team culture that encourages proactive problem-solving and clear communication with partner teams.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in analytics tooling, process automation, and self-service data access.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in business analytics, product analytics, or strategy roles; prior experience managing analysts required.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience working in a modern BI and data environment (e.g., Looker, Tableau, dbt, Snowflake).
  • Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into high-quality insights.
  • Experience managing analytics backlog, project scoping, stakeholder intake, and delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—you can simplify complexity and deliver clear, actionable narratives.
  • Comfortable working in an environment undergoing transformation toward automated and AI-augmented analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative or business field; advanced degree a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SMB or B2B product environments.
  • Exposure to OKR-based performance management or executive reporting cycles.
  • Experience contributing to or leading BI automation and insight delivery modernization efforts (e.g., Slack-native alerts, AI-powered narrative tools).

The US national annual pay range for this role is $94,000 to $156,200
