DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design and implement data solutions using AWS and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) technologies to meet business requirements and ensure data integrity and availability. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and storage structures optimized for performance and scalability. Create and optimize ETL pipelines to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business rules, and load it into RDBMS systems. Perform database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, to ensure the performance and security of RDBMS systems. Implement data integration processes to combine data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Develop and enforce data quality controls, validation rules, and governance processes to maintain data integrity. Optimize query performance and database operations through query tuning, indexing, and other performance optimization techniques. Implement and maintain data security controls, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Monitor data pipelines, database systems, and data workflows to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring data availability and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions. Develop and implement DevOps processes to automate monitoring, builds, and deployments. Develop proof of concepts on new technologies and solutions for use in AWM Big Data and Cloud platforms. Drive client satisfaction by identifying and developing process improvement and automation initiatives while ensuring compliance of solutions to operations. Implement and enforce data security measures, including authentication mechanisms and data encryption. Investigate and troubleshoot database performance issues, and data corruption.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Big Data Engineer, Database Administrator, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Big Data Engineer, Database Administrator, or related occupation.
